We booked two trips, one with our guide and one with the beach boys Raji and Siri. There was no real difference in the quality of the trips but the beach boys were cheaper - and they try very hard to make your trip special. We went to Yala with Siri and the trip was full of special little touches like buying a delicious breakfast snack along the way and leaving us at our hotel after dinner with a bottle of arak so we could chat over a quiet drink before bed. Raji invited us to his home to meet his family and we spent a lovely evening with them. Such friendly and warm people.

Me and my husband came back from this lovely hotel yesterday after a 2 week stay and we already miss it. On a Saturday night they have cocktail get togethers where a photographer narrates photos. We were even taken to Siri's house to meet his family and we had a cup of tea with them. I especially recommended the 2 day trip to Kandy, it can be done in one day but is a long drive and very gradual..

We had the pleasure of having Siri drive our family on a 5 day tour of Sri Lanka. He was a true gentleman and an excellent driver. I can't imagine driving there myself. Siri took the time to take the equation out of the equation so we could fully immerse ourselves in all the sites and culture. He also took us to some places we might not have discovered on our own... a tea factory, an Ayurvedic farm and a hardwood factory. Siri became part of our family!
